Police officers have reportedly been called to the scene of The Crooked House - as pictures show the iconic pub had been reduced to rubble. Social media users claimed police were at the site of the former Dudley pub this evening, August 7.
The pub located on Himley Road, near Himley Hall, was destroyed after a fire took place on Saturday evening, August 5. The brick building had been still standing earlier today, however, the site appeared to be reduced to a large rubble of bricks by this evening.
Social media users reported on Facebook this evening that officers were on the scene. One man wrote: "Everyone get down here. Police are here now." A woman also said: "Police now at the scene!" She added there were "lots of police cars there".

The fire has prompted an investigation by Staffordshire Police in conjunction with the fire service. In a statement issued earlier today, Detective Inspector Richard Dancey, from CID, said: "This incident has caused a great deal of speculation locally and we understand the significance of the building within the local community.
"We would like to remind the public that our investigation is ongoing and we are reviewing all of the available evidence available alongside fire investigators to determine the cause of the incident. Due to the excess damage caused to the structure of the building, the cordon remains in place today and we’re asking people to avoid the area.
"Those who may have any useful information are urged to get in touch with us whilst we continue to complete our lines of enquiry alongside the fire service."
